Electronics, Computer, and Telecommunications Technology
Associate of Applied Science

Businesses and other organizations rely on electronics, computers, and telecommunications equipment to run their operations. Inevitably, complex equipment can malfunction, requiring the skills of a technician who can troubleshoot the problem. TESST College of Technology can provide the education and training you need to seek entry-level employment in this specialized field.

Career Preparation

The electronics, computer, and telecommunications technology program can provide you with the technical and professional skills required for employment as an entry-level technician. The program teaches electronics technology principles and related mathematics as well as logical troubleshooting techniques. Also included in the curriculum are general education courses that focus on skills in rhetoric and social studies, which can make you a more attractive job candidate.

Another benefit of the program is to help you prepare for the Certified Electronics Technician (CET) Associate-Level exam sponsored by the International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians or the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) A+ Certification exam.*

Career Opportunities

Upon graduation you can seek entry-level positions such as:

  • Communications technician
  • Computer repair technician
  • Field service technician
  • Consumer product technician

* However, the School cannot guarantee a student's eligibility either to take this exam or become certified. A student's eligibility may depend on his or her work experience, completion of high school (or its equivalent), not having a criminal record, meeting other licensure or certification requirements, or the program or School itself having appropriate accreditation or licensure. Externship sites may themselves require a criminal background check or medical examination.
